A Honeycomb Frame For A Wedding

I received a text from Lisa Phillips of Round Tuit Farms asking if I have a perfect frame of honey with nice fresh white cappings for someone who wanted a full frame of honeycomb for a wedding. I had just brought in a box of honey comb to process – so yes, I did and just in the nick of time – an hour or two later and that frame of honey would have been cut up or otherwise processed for honey.

Lisa passed me off to Gail Dupar of Dupar Designs, LLC who was catering the wedding event and in charge of the idea. Gail described to me what she intended to do and I set that nice frame of honeycomb aside.

I even spend a few trips to the hives to see if I could find a better frame. No others over the next couple weeks provided me with a completely capped, nicely shaped frame of Shady Lane Bees honeycomb – so that one frame I had set aside was destined to be in someone’s wedding.

To me, it’s a bit fairy tale like. That my bees made something so wonderful that their work was going to be in a wedding – and Gail pulled it off! The honey, the fruit, the cheese, the flowers so perfectly set.

All the bee’s hard work. In a wedding. Wow. It makes this beekeeper proud if his bees.
